Despanges is a very remote village 3-4 hours from the hospital in Jeremie or the Gebeau Clinic.
Many years ago construction was started for a medical clinic at Despanges. The idea was to provide a clinic in this remote area that could be staffed part time to fulfill the medical needs of the people.
The project was never completed and sits idle with walls and roof completed but no finish work.
Attempts to find part time staff for this location were never successful.
