Sanite is located on a challenging road south of National Route 2 about an hour from Petit Goave.
The Sanite Church was damaged by the 2010 Earthquake. Large cracks are in both the floor and two walls. It is unknown whether these crack are stable or not. From original design and construction, there are insufficient vertical columns to properly support the roof. Termites have riddled the wooden rafters.
At a bare minimum, the roof needs to be replaced, additional columns need to be installed and horizontal reinforced beams need to be installed in order to tie the entire structure together. The roof needs to be completely replaced and large cracks in the floor need to be repaired.
It is possible that the entire building needs to be replaced.
An engineering study needs to be done to determine the structural integrity of the building.
